My foundation in here was built through hospitality, where I owned and operated two successful restaurants for seven years, learning first-hand the art of creating memorable experiences and bringing people together around a shared table. Then, in 2005, I traded in the tapas and sangria for love and “I Do’s” and discovered a new passion: creating beautiful wedding celebrations.
After helping grow one of Puerto Vallarta’s premier wedding and event planning companies as Managing Partner, I founded Weddings Vallarta by Barbara in 2011, inspired by my love for design, connection, and creating meaningful experiences. Today, I specialize in destination wedding planning and design in Puerto Vallarta and the Banderas Bay area, helping couples from around the world bring their vision to life.
I have watched Puerto Vallarta grow and transform over the years, evolving into one of the world’s most sought-after locations for destination weddings, yet its heart remains the same. The warmth of its people, the beauty of its landscapes, and its charm and authenticity have inspired me to build trusted relationships, discover hidden gems, and develop a deep appreciation for the culture and spirit that define this incredible place.

Being bilingual and deeply connected to Mexican culture allows me to understand the nuances of bringing a wedding vision to life in Mexico. Each celebration I create is a reflection of the couple behind it – personal, authentic, and filled with moments that matter.
Her journey began in the restaurant industry, where she immersed herself in every aspect of the business—from serving and bartending to learning the importance of teamwork, attention to detail, and exceptional customer care. Her dedication and drive eventually led her to Puerto Vallarta’s Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport, where she spent five years as a Restaurant Supervisor, gaining valuable experience in personnel management, organization, and staying calm under pressure.
When Julieta decided to bring her passion for service into the world of destination weddings and events in Puerto Vallarta, it quickly became clear that she had found the perfect fit. Joining Weddings Vallarta by Barbara as an Associate Wedding Planner, she embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, and bring her natural energy and dedication to each celebration.
Today, it feels as though she was made for this work. Her enthusiasm, warmth, and commitment to going above and beyond make her an incredible part of our team. She loves discovering what makes each couple unique—their style, their vision, their colors, and the personal details that transform a wedding into a true reflection of their love story.

Legal Ceremony
Yes, foreigners can legally marry in Mexico, provided they meet the required documentation and legal requirements. A civil ceremony is the only type of wedding ceremony legally recognized by Mexican law, and it is performed in Spanish by an authorized civil official.
The process involves additional paperwork and preparation, and couples choosing a legal civil ceremony will need to arrive in Puerto Vallarta several days before their wedding to complete the necessary requirements. We’ll help guide you through the process and make sure you know what to expect, so you can arrive prepared and focus on celebrating the beginning of your new life together.
Catholic Ceremony
If you’re planning a Catholic wedding in Puerto Vallarta, it’s important to begin the process several months in advance to allow time to gather the required documentation and fulfill the church’s requirements.
Couples must be legally married before their Catholic wedding ceremony, and Catholic ceremonies are performed inside the church. Priests do not travel to private villas, wedding venues, or beaches to perform Catholic wedding ceremonies.
We’ll help you understand the process and plan accordingly, so you can enjoy your celebration knowing the important details are taken care of.
Symbolic Ceremony
A symbolic wedding ceremony in Puerto Vallarta gives you the freedom to create a celebration that is completely your own. You can choose your ceremony style, vows, officiant, location, rituals, and meaningful details to reflect your relationship and your story. Whether you envision a romantic beach ceremony, an elegant private villa celebration, or something uniquely yours, the possibilities are entirely up to you.
Because a symbolic ceremony is not legally binding, you can take care of the legal requirements at home before or after your wedding in Puerto Vallarta. This gives you the freedom to focus on creating a meaningful ceremony without the legal requirements involved in a civil wedding in Mexico.
